Details:
On August 21. 2025. just two hours after remotely imaging comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) from Namibia. I also captured it from my home observatory—though the images are hardly comparable. Beyond the differences in equipment and altitude above the horizon. local conditions were truly unfavorable. with poor transparency and smoke from the wildfires that were devastating the country at the time. Nevertheless. the observational record stands: a coma measuring 1.5 arcminutes across and a tail about 5.5 arcminutes long. against a star field dotted with several small galaxies on the border between Serpens and Hercules. TS-Photon 8" f/4.0, Atik 383L+, Exp=48 min, FOV=49x37'(crop), N:Up E:Left. OAV, Valencia (Spain)
