Yesterday the weather forecast for today's search for the comet was still very good; however, after an icy night, clouds unfortunately appeared during the day and covered the entire sky. It wasn't until late in the afternoon that the sky in the west cleared up, just in time for sunset. The air was extremely clear all the way to the horizon, making it the best conditions to photograph the comet Comet ATLAS (C/2024 G3) from Central Europe before it moves to the southern hemisphere of earth. There were also wonderful Alpine mirages that evening (note the left part of the picture). The black and white inverted image is a cutout of the color image.
