Details:
The weather was exceptionally clear and cold on the 12th so I woke up early to be ready when Comet C/2024 G3 ATLAS would rise at 07h35. This was the day before perihelion. It was a magnificent morning and I was hopeful that the comet would appear on the pictures but although I knew exactly where it should be it was nowhere to be found. After 3 unsuccessful attempts I changed my processing technique and was finally able to spot the extremely tiny and dim coma and even a hint of the tail. It is not much but makes all the difference. /*Peter R
