Details:
Today I was able to observe comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS (20 October 2024) in spite of a squall front that is producing bad weather and rain these days. I was able to take advantage of a brief interval, before Moonrise and when there was still a trace of twilight in the sky. The comet was faintly visible to the naked eye with a tail several degrees long. In the image you can see the comet with a long tail (more than 15Âș) and a small antitail. The planet Venus shines in the center below, near its setting. On the left is the Milky Way with the galactic center (constellation of Sagittarius). The colors of the twilight with the clouds offer a dramatic view of this scene located in the region of Alt EmpordĂ , province of Girona, Spain.
