Details:
Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS taken remotely imaged from Spain on the evening of October 17, 2024. This “close-up” image covers a 6°x6° section of the sky, equivalent to about 12 lunar diameters, and reveals considerable detail in both the tail (the brighter one on the left) and, notably, the anti-tail (slightly fainter on the right), despite interference from moonlight (Full Moon!) and the glow of the horizon at dusk. Technical details: Samyang 135 mm f/2 lens stopped down to f/2.8, with a ZWO ASI 2600MM camera. The image is an LRGB composite with a compact integration of 16 minutes (5x120s Luminance; 120s for each RGB channel).
