Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) on September 23, 2024 at 07:40 UT
Quixadá-Ceará Brazil
Canon T5i, iso 800, 10 x 5sec, canon 50mm lens, f 1.8 Fixed tripod
Comet altitude = 10 degrees
Solar elongation = 21.9 degrees
Distance to the Sun = 0.41 AU (61 million km)
Distance to Earth = 1.11 AU (167 million km)
* Easily visible with 7 x 50mm binoculars, with a tail of about 1 degree and an estimated magnitude of + 3.6
Note: Smoke and dust suspended in the atmosphere interfered with the capture. Also the lights of twilight and a 71% illuminated moon. But conditions are improving day by day and the outlook for the 27th (perihelion date) is good as the comet is expected to be brighter, higher in the sky and with greater solar enlargement.
