Details:
Taken from Stony Man Overlook, Skyline Drive, Shenandoah National Park, VA. Cloudy and drizzly all day and forecast was not promising but wx satellite showed possible partial clearing of clouds later on in evening so took a chance and drove up from Arlington,Va. Sure enough after dinner clouds began to break and we were treated to the rare mid latitude G5 spectacle. Clearly visible to naked eye, but iPhone 14 ProMax brought out vivid colors of red , green, yellow and violet. Was like a kid in a candy store. Couldn’t get enough pix and I took over 75! When deciding whether to go or not just remember the lottery commercial that says “You can’t win if you don’t play!” Won big tonight! All shots using iPhone 14 ProMax, handheld, using the night photography mode. Amazing. Put away my regular camera.
