Holy Moly! I'm in the Atacama Desert at 22 degrees south latitude and the sky was red here!!! I knew about the incoming CME and was ready just after dark at about 7:30 pm GMT -4 with my camera pointing south. I could see a deep red in my pictures and left the camera running for a few hours. When I checked back again at just after 10:00pm and the glow was gone. Two images are presented to show the difference. What an unbelievable sight just thinking that the event was so strong as to be detected here, just outside San Pedro de Atacama, Chile!
