I forced the PST solar scope to do my bidding earlier. As much as it dislikes having a camera attached to it it seems to be persuadable with hold-ur-breath levels of tinkering. I sure hope people are time lapsing the wild prominence on the western limb in case it goes for a massive eruption. I'd love to see that in motion. Four Earths could fit with room to spare under the limbo bar it was making this morning. Here's hoping the CME stays strong for western US aurora opportunities tonight. ----- 10 May 2024 1615UTC Coronado PST + 25mm Plössl + baling wire, threats & duct tape Canon EOS R5 1/100 sec., ISO 1600 Disc & prominences processed separately, merged, & gradient map applied.
