Details:
Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks remains particularly exciting even after perihelion. An ion tail that changes daily has now been joined by a dust tail fan more than 1 degree long. During the remote images taken at the Skygems Observatory on Hakos in Namibia, the comet was almost 10 degrees high. The comet is now increasing its distance from the sun. This makes it a little better for observers in the southern hemisphere from day to day. The image is a co-production by Michael Jäger, Lukas Demetz and Gerald Rhemann
