Details:
Despite unfavourable weather (both at my place and at the remote observatory) I managed to take some images of comet 12P with its beautiful ever-changing ion tail before moonlight got too strong. The left image shows the comet on the evening of 03/12 passing by the bright (4.28 mag.) blue star Pi Andromedae, while the one on the right was taken on 03/15, with a 35% thick crescent Moon illuminating the sky.
For the first image a 27 min. total integration time was used (2x180 sec. L + 1x180 sec. G and R each + 5x180 sec. B), for the second one 36 min. total (2x180 sec. L + 1x180 sec. G and R each + 8x180 sec. B). The raw images were acquired remotely via Skygems Observatory Network using a 25 cm. H10 telescope in Spain.
