Details:
21st October 2023 was International Observe the Moon Night. It is scheduled on a night when the Moon is near First Quarter Phase. Clear skies in Mutare on the 22nd provided a good view of the Moon just past First Quarter rising almost directly overhead as shown in the accompanying x7 speed time-lapse animation and nine frame montage. Very good lighting conditions and clean air after recent rain enabled sharp images exhibiting good contrast and fine detail to be obtained just before the Moon passed behind a thin veil of high cloud. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in sunset mode.
