Details:
A (photographic) comet before breakfast. There is a lot of coverage about him in the media at the moment. And it actually looks like a “real” comet in the sky. C/2023 P1 'Nishimura', as it is called, shows a remarkable tail base. But only photographically. Visually it is a real challenge. You need binoculars to see the shimmering green core. It also remains very low in the eastern sky and is quickly outshone by the advancing dawn. Unfortunately, Comet Nishimura will not be a "comet for the general public", but will remain exclusively an object for comet hunters and nature lovers. In these images from the morning of September 8, 2023, comet C/2023 P1 'Nishimura' was photographed above the heights of the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park near the municipality of Paschel in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
