Details:
The nearly full Moon (94% illuminated) rises behind Cathedral Rock in Sedona, Arizona, on Monday evening.

This is a composite image. As the Moon rose, clouds in the west momentarily blocked the Sun leaving the rocks in shadow. I used an image from a few minutes earlier when the Sun was illuminating the rocks and blended it with the Moon.

The Photographers Ephemeris was used to determine the shooting location.
