The night began with fighting high winds and clouds. I could see the arrival of the geomagnetic storm that was possibly from a CME that launched from the Sun on the 23rd. The clouds began to dissipate and the Aurora was a diffuse purple and green. As always I looked around hoping that I might catch STEVE. I spied something to the Northwest but it was to far North to be STEVE. I swung my camera over and almost fell over when I checked the shot there was one of the brightest SAR arcs that I have seen! The SAR lasted around 45 minutes then dissipated and disappeared. The show was not over yet and 45 minutes later the Aurora gave a crescendo that I will never forget a beautiful pillar show to end the night. How sweet the Aurora can be
