South of the gigantic spot the ripped filament fascinated me. When I was processing the image, I noticed the fine structure in the umbra. I had never noticed anything like that in my long years of solar photography. Seeing continues to be heavily influenced by the jet stream, but it takes patience to wait for the better, if brief, moments. 5" Takahashi refractor
