Details:
Comet 2023 E1 (Atlas) a dusty Halley-family comet is at about peak brightness from the Earth perspective. Although only mag 9.2 it is a nice telescopic object against the star background as shown left which is 10 x 90 sec stacked on stars. In much longer exposures shown right 33x90 sec stacked on the comet nucleus a faint ion tail is visible with the stars as streaks due to tracking the comet nucleus.
