Details:
We've had some smoke from Canadian forest fires in recent weeks, but heavier smoke moved over New Jersey on June 6, 2023. Overnight, the waning gibbous Moon was dimmed and it turned a dull orange color. This single-frame image was captured at 2 am on June 7 with a Canon EOS RP camera and a Tamron 150 to 600 mm zoom lens (on a fixed tripod) set to 600 mm, then cropped to about 35% of the original size for a field about 1.1° wide x 0.9° high. It was exposed 1/125 sec at f/8.0, ISO 6400, daylight white balance, but later set to 3400K.
