I've been photographing the northern lights in Montana for over 11 years, and this morning was exceptionally incredible! I believe this was the brightest display I've ever seen going into dawn! Still at a loss for words honestly. Around midnight Montana time I noticed a change in the data, but I thought it would be too little, too late. Fortunately it kept getting better and better, and the northern lights started peaking around 6:30 am, which is when this photo was taken. What really set this apart from other displays was just how colorful they were! I could easily see bright reds and purples, along with the greens! Despite the approaching dawn. Even more amazing, they actually got more colorful at dawn! I could see the reds even with sunrise! Also it's rare here in Montana to have a huge northern lights show going into 7 am. These photos are straight outta the camera!
