Details:
A10SVYR was the provisional acronym assigned to this comet, C/2023 A3, which will shine in our skies in autumn 2024 and could reach magnitude 0 (zero) or as bright as the spectacular Hale-Bopp visible in the 90s.
It is now a very faint object of magnitude 18 in the constellation Serpens at a distance of over a billion km from the Sun.
It will slowly approach the Sun reaching perihelion at about 60 million km at the end of September next year and, in October it will be about 70 million km from the Earth, ideal conditions for us to dream of a great show in the sky right now .
