This afternoon the weather was quite cloudy, but between one cloud and another the sky was clear and blue. I then decided to try to photograph the two planets in conjunction Venus and Jupiter in daylight. The challenge was to capture Jupiter as well. At the foot of St. Peter and st. Paul's Basilica in Rome I had only a Nikon with me, and with the help of Stellarium, without binoculars, I tried to identify Venus with the naked eye. And it wasn't difficult, even it the Sun was abut 14° above the horizon: in two minutes, there it in the form of a bright white dot. I moved so as to put it in perspective with the statue of the angel placed on top of the dome of the church, and I took these shots, in which Jupiter also appeared, even if not visible to the naked eye. Nikon ISO800 1/2000s single snap - 3h40m pm UT
