Details:
I captured some views of the Aurora from the southern end of the Bitterroot Valley in Western Montana. In contrast to the previous display about a week or so ago, this display was clearly visible to the naked eye and reached to about 40 degrees above the northern horizon. Images were captured using a Sony Alpha 6000 DSLR equipped with a Rokinon 8mm f/2.8 "fish-eye"lens with ISO levels set at 1600 with 12 second exposures. Images were captured between 3:30 am and 4:30 am this morning after the Moon had set and skies had mostly cleared of clouds that obscured our views of this wonderfull display earlier in the night.
