Details:
Couldn't beat the clouds despite travelling from one side of the country to the other. After crossing the alps from Christchurch to Hokitika, I arrived to cloud-free skies and a beautiful sunset - full of hope for a brief, but clear imaging session. After setting up my gear and taking test shots, clouds soon started passing through meaning I couldn't capture as many images as I would have liked and I had to settle for just a few frames.
But given this little green visitor was passing the planet of little green men, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to photograph it even if it hasn't ended up as detailed as I'd have liked.
To give you an idea of scale, the apparent distance between Comet ZTF and Mars was no more than the width of finger held at arm's length.
Canon R6 at prime focus on Sky-Watcher Esprit 100, EQ6-R Pro mount, 100mm, f/5.5, 2min, ISO1600.
