Details:
Comet ZTF was observed under 7/10 Bortle 4 skies but increasing high cirrus coverage hampered observation. It was also breezy at times (temperature 52F, RH 15%). The ion tail and dust tail appeared about the same during the past 24 hours although are getting smaller as the comet moves to deep space. The ion tail was obvious in the starless and fixed comet using 116x60s sub images but was not in the fixed star image of just 7x60s image (left). Mars scattered the high clouds to produce a diffuse glow around it. Tech Specs: Nikon d7100, Nikkor 180mm f/2.8 @ f/2.8, iso 1600, cropped, Orion Sirius EQ Mount, PixInsight. Taken between 7:02Pm to 9:09PM MST.
