Details:
In 1609, Galileo projected solar images and sunspots safely with his 30x refractor to track the solar rotation. Here we use a replica of that simple telescope to project large spot AR 3190 at lower left (SE limb) and big group AR 3186 (top center) on paper today. Then we use a 3" off axis Baadersolar fitler to shield the eVscope eQuinox and see the groups in much more detail with our smartphones. Finally we use the Lunt 60 for still more detailed views of these whoppers. How the technology has changed!
