Details:
A great Moondog appeared with the rising moon. In a strategy similar to photographing a Sundog, the Moon was blocked by my home removing its glare and allowing for the Moondog in the field of Orion so show through. Mars is near the top left center of the image. Captured with a Nikon D850 and Sigma 20 mm F1.4 lens, exposure 7 seconds. Moondogs are rarer to observe than Sundogs.
