Details:
Eighteen years ago on this date, I had brought my home-built all-sky camera down to nearby Britannia Park on the Ottawa River in order to get away from local lights. The camera mated an inexpensive 16mm fisheye lens to a medium-format film body. I was thrilled when the northern lights encroached from the north and eventually enveloped the entire sky. I believe I used ISO 400 slide film, the aperture was set at F4, and exposures ranged from 10-30 seconds.
