Details:
Mars has been in the vicinity of M1, the Crab nebula, for the last couple of weeks doing one of its "retrogade loops". It is now departing the scene somewhat. I have been trying to get an image of this event recently from the window-sill but have been foiled by cloud. Last night, however, I did manage to get something, at least. The image is, in fact a 3-panel mosaic composite. There is also an interesting double star in-shot - AHD10 / SAO 77332.
