Details:
Noctilucent cloud season seems to be over, but this year I had my first ever sighting during a transatlantic flight from Chicago to Dublin. Two or three hundred miles southwest of Iceland I raised the window cover to take a peek at the sky and instantly recognized the electric blue clouds. I was so excited I almost shook my wife's arm off trying to get her attention! I grabbed my phone (Samsung Galaxy S21) and started taking photos. The clouds were visible for over 40 minutes but were well behind us when I realised that my phone had been on auto mode... and I had forgotten about my Nikon DSLR above me in the overhead bin! Still, That flight will live long in the memory. Thank you noctilucent cloud season 2022!
