Details:
Very nice geomagnetic activity in the last three days or so. Here's what has been recorded by my prototype magnetometer in the NW of Scotland.
Strong first activity pulse on Aug.17th, moderate one on Aug.18th, and a smaller one yesterday afternoon/evening after the arrival of a second CME.
The prototype sensor is inside my house, N/S oriented, and with its data filtered to cut local artificial spikes. The second plot shows the signal rate of change. At the same time, the third illustrates the overall activity via the colors that we are accustomed to seeing from other monitoring sources.
All in all, a very good geomagnetic episode, with many great aurora pictures from all over the world.
