Details:
What colour are noctilucent clouds? The usual colour is blue and perhaps yellow when viewed close to the horizon, but what about green? I caught this display from North Yorkshire, UK on 23 June 2022 at 00:05 UT. The clouds near the horizon were tinged yellow and those higher up the usual blue colour. However, in the transition area between the two bands, the noctilucent clouds were a distinct green colour. I've never seen this before and it made for a memorable display. This shot was taken with a tripod mounted Canon 250D DSLR at 1.6s exposure, 170mm focal length, f/5, ISO-800.
