Details:
Clear all day, clear at midnight (when I tested a new camera lens in the back yard). At 4am I got out the star tracker, drove to my standard spot at a nearby park facing east to make another attempt to get the planets with Comet Kopff--only to discover clouds had moved in! Leaning on the car I got a few hazy snaps, then drove home and put stuff away--maybe after a good night's sleep I could composite the bits together into a photo worth posting. On my way to bed at 5am I peeked out the front door--clear again! But the sky was brightening, so forget about comets or making another run to the park. I pulled out the camera, used burst mode to fire off several shots from the doorway, and picked the sharpest one to include here.
