Details:
A truly all-mighty display. One of the best I’ve ever seen. The auroras overhead took shapes that make one’s imagination run wild. The auroras flickered with speeds that where almost like geomagnetic lightning. Their brightness rivaled the waxing gibbous moon that night. The height of the display started at around 1 am local time (23:00 UTC) and ended at around 3 am local time (01:00 UTC). The characteristics of the auroras changed constantly throughout the night. Colours ranged in green, red, pink, violet etc. There was so much going on in the sky during a couple of hours of time it was difficult to comprehend it all!
First image: Auroras form, what looks to me like a heavenly firebird overhead. That in the shape of a raven in flight, with its head and round-edged left wing in the center of the image. The Big Dipper is visible at the top of the image.
Second and third image: A view of what other shapes the aurora corona overhead took.
Fourth image: A look down during the the big show.
