Details:
A huge “army of oxygen atoms” were coming down heavily, creating a magnificent light red to deep bloody red Auroras in places, over Municipal District of Opportunity No17 in the early hours of the evening of February 21st. Also a possible candidate for SAR ARC was spotted as well. The geomagnetic unrest started early on February 21st, continuing during the evening and into the early hours of February 22nd, developing into a full G1 geomagnetic storm. The start was very colorful with a humongous rain of red pillars and curtains. Shooting even at 14mm, the lens wasn’t wide enough to catch the whole show, sometimes I could not get everything in one frame (Municipal District of Opportunity No 17, Alberta, Canada, February 21, 2022) (Nikon D810 paired with Sigma Art 14mm 1.8 2.5, 3 & 5 sec exposure, ISO 2500 & 3200, 14mm, 1.8)
