Details:
Early on Tuesday morning a spectacular volcanic aerosol sunrise was observed above Cecil Kop Nature Reserve from an open space in Murambi East Vlei. The display commenced with Venus above emerging sunrise twilight. Between 5.01 and 5.17 am this developed into a full-blown sunrise twilight arch which at maximum intensity reflected brightly coloured light from a majestic plume of cloud above. From 5.26 to 5.36 am it became lighter, paler and fluorescent in appearance as daylight approached. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in sunset mode.
