Details:
Visible through low powered binoculars yet just out of visual range. I was also able to capture Comet Leonard (C/2021 A1) with my iPhone 13 Pro Max ...although the tail is presently much longer than at the start of last week. Quite a beautiful sight in the sky and a fitting farewell at the end of the year. Comet Leonard (C/2021 A1) was also easily seen on the LCD Live View of my camera at 30x magnification. The mint-green glow around the nucleus and the rusty tail was showing some basic color and detail even at just 85mm. Shot with a Canon EOS Ra + Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM lens on a Celestron CGX EQ Mount for stability (unguided). ISO 1250 - f/1.4 - 8.0 second exposure at 85mm. iPhone image was taken with a 30 second exposure using the "Night Shot" setting. Comet Leonard is virtually in the center of that shot.
