Details:
Halloween night was one of the clearest for some time. I continue with my single shot challenge in the face of light pollution. Even though these images cannot match the high quality material from dark skies locations, they are nevertheless a powerful tool in encouraging interest in the night sky and for highlighting the need to minimise light pollution. Though near town and other external lights, the churchyard of St Mary's with its tall 17th Century tower is still a relatively dark place. The green light is a dim internal security light, the orange top to the tower light from street lights on a nearby road shining over the top of the surrounding woodland. Redenhall Church is connected with the Fuller family, members of the Pilgrim Fathers, who traveled on the Mayflower to establish the settlements in North America in 1620 - 4 years after the tower was built.
