Details:
Comet 29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann centered. Initially observed as a compact bright object, the expanding coma is gradually becoming more transparent to the background stars. All images captured with iTelescope T11 (0.5 M Planewave), with the initial outburst a 300 sec image due to rapidly changing clouds and only a single useable image, while the other images a stacked total 480 sec with 120 sec subs. The uneven date sequence is due to clear sky being available.
This is the brightest outburst in 40 years.
As of October 16 the coma appears to be rapidly thinning with a significant change since October 14th. Note the much fainter stars are now shining through the coma that shows how much more transparent it has become in just two days. By October 19th it is faded even more.
