The seeing was fairly good on the 18th here in IL and this was a major eruption that was captured. As you can see it is big and the biggest one that I have seen so far this year. By the time I got things set up to do an animation run the major loop on the lower right had faded significantly. The speed at which these change never ceases to amaze me. It appears that this eruption was linked to sunspot 2871 that was located very close to the edge at the time and on its way towards the other side. Hope you find this interesting.
