WOW… what a treat to end the month of July and what a wonderful summer night was there last night!!! Great early Aurora show despite the full moon and so many colors…..the show started early at dusk moving in curtains and pillars from east to the west and at the northern horizon. The purple and blue pillars were amazing and were shooting up in the sky almost overhead. But not only green, purple and blue were the only colors, pink and red joined the club, making for an amazing show. Despite the almost full moon, the Aurora was strong and well visible with naked eye. This was an great opportunity to try out for the first time the new D810 astro modified camera and see how it’s performing and how much red is picking up…great run so fast… need more Aurora shows for more testing sessions… (July 27-July 28, 2021, Municipal District of Opportunity No. 17, Alberta, Canada – Astro mod D810, Sigma Art 14mm 1.8, ISO 1000 &1250; 3 seconds exposure; f 1.8, 14mm)
