Details:
The NLC display on July 12th/13th was the best I have witnessed so far this season. Once the darkest sector of the night approached and the NLCs dropped in height towards the horizon I was shocked to see the upper edge of the display a bizarre red colour. I could see this eerie red with the naked eye easily, the hue was like the tone of red wine or dark red auroral pillars, that kind of special quality which I took to be slightly rare. Two images uploaded, 55mm then super wide 15mm.
