Details:
Type Ia supernova SN 2021hiz in the faint galaxy IC3322A in NW Vir. The gx itself is mag 13.6 while the SN is mag 13.1 or 13.2, the brightest it's been so far since its discovery about 3 weeks ago. The distance is around 80Mly. A nearly 1Q Moon high in the W sky brightened and turned blue the sky considerably despite being 75° away. The large elliptical galaxy M49 is just outside the upper left corner.
