Details:
SpaceX launches are clearly visible on Hatteras Island from 2 minutes post-launch until they disappear in the East over the ocean. If you were up before dawn and looked outside on March 14, you were treated to a very visible SpaceX launch (6:01 a.m. lift-off). Once the payload was overhead, the vapor trail caught the sun in a beautiful way. I took this photo 10 minutes after it disappeared off to the East.......the vapor trail created an amazing noctilucent glow that lasted quite a while. This view is from Buxton (Cape Hatteras) sound side, looking across Pamlico Sound toward the ocean. The lights are from the village of Avon (Kinnakeet). Camera: Panasonic DMC FZ70
