Details:
Jupiter (right) and Saturn (left) shine in twilight on December 5th, 2020 over the Rhine near Emmerich. They were good in the southwest evening sky to observe. Both planets Jupiter and Saturn are approaching in the coming days. Observation with clear views is particularly worthwhile at this time of the year. The optical impression of a double star is created. The celestial event will culminate on December 21, 2020 because then there is a great conjunction. The giant planet Jupiter pulls slower at a distance of only 0 ° 06` to the south Saturn over. This rare celestial phenomenon is the faster orbit of Jupiter to owe the sun. There was also such a great conjunction at the birth of Jesus Christ. Scientists and theologians suspect that it is the Star of Bethlehem acted.
