On 8th November with a cloudless sky and the afternoon temperature in the mid-30’s it was possible to photograph the Sunspot AR2781 Archipelago on the setting Sun using just a compact camera with atmospheric smoke haze acting as a solar filter as shown in the accompanying x4 speed time-lapse animation and still photographs. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in sunset mode with up to x120 optical + digital zoom magnification.
