Near perfect conditions to image the new sunspot AR2871 on the Sun today. The overall dimension is slightly shorter than the ~142000 km of Jupiter's diameter. I had only around 30 minutes before the Sun would set from here in the North of Scotland and after that the clouds cleared the sky, but what a fantastic view! This is a mosaic that includes B/W, False Colors, False Colors inverted, B/W inverted images, with our planet Earth to scale in the centre. From my location the Sun was only 15 degrees above the horizon, and having this kind of great seeing is rare, to say the least.
