One minute only separates these two images of the great solar active region AR 2781. The flare, observed here in the ultraviolet light of calcium H, disappeared shortly afterwards. Details: 210 mm Newtonian telescope with uncoated mirror, Barlow lens and DayStar Quark calcium H filter.
