Details:
Decided to bring two friends out tonight for some aurora hunting and we got really lucky with the solar wind arriving just as we arrived at our spot. It started out with a regular but fairly good display tinting the water green and then dimming for a bit.. Then I saw something I've never seen before, an arc of red right over the milky way for about 60 minutes before dimming. Very exiting night!
