Details:
Mars is looking absolutely brilliant rising in the eastern sky at the same time as the Sun is setting in the west. Mars is now at opposition and showing so much incredible detail on the surface of the planet and displaying a soft bluish hue of cloud at the northern pole, which is quite stunning to see ☺ ☺ ☺
I’m still having lots of trouble with those pesky clouds and just managed to capture this image before a shower of rain ended my night!
The image was taken with a Meade LX200 10 inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope and a ZWO 120 MC-S camera with 3x Barlow lens attached. An AVI movie file was captured with 3000 frames and stacked in RegiStax6 and processed in PS CS4.
