Details:
These are images of the occultation of Mars by the Moon. The red planet was 178 times further away and 6378 dimmer than the Moon. A 19-minute grazing occultation could be seen from Rio. Desappearance was observed at 03:16 UTC. Intervening clouds greatly reduced contrast and image quality. A Nikon CoolPix P900 camera was used with no telescope attached.
